When SOPHY Hyde Park opens this summer, it will have some distinguished neighbors in Hyde Park. Among them is The Museum of Science & Industry, which is dedicated to innovation. The museum is located in the 14-acre former Palace of Fine Arts, which hosted the famous World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893 and its one of the last remnants of the famous White City. Innovation was a hallmark of that fair, which brought together inventors such as Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla.

The Museum houses more than 35,000 artifacts, including a Boeing 727 and a German U-505 submarine, it’s renowned for it engaging hands-on exhibits that are ideal for younger visitors. Try taking a tour of your digestive system, learning about tornadoes or delve into the newest exhibit, The Science Behind Pixar, which opens May 24, 2018.
