Lunch is anything but common at The Common Good, the signature restaurant at The Benson Hotel and Faculty Club in Aurora, Colorado. Thanks to Chef Donovan Davis, a veteran of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, the midday meal is creative, inspired, and a little bit unexpected.
If it’s a celebratory day, The Common Good Bloody or an Aperol Spritz is a good way to begin.
Chef Davis covers a lot of bases with his menu, which includes Southwestern favorites like Pork and Poblano Green Chili, an Italian-inspired Tuscan Kale Caesar, and lighter fare such as a Smoked Baby Blue wedge with cherrywood-smoked bacon.
Naturally, there ‘s burger on the menu. In fact, there are two. The Benson Burger features gruyere, caramelized onions and arugula, while the Classic Burger uses American cheese, butter lettuce, tomato, red onion and the Chef’s secret sauce on a potato bun. There’s a Butternut Squash Risotto or Potato Gnocchi among the options for vegan diners.
A hallmark of the lunch offerings at The Common Good is that this is very much a global lunch menu, thanks to handhelds like a Korean fried chicken sandwich and a Falafel Wrap, as well as a Moroccan Grain Bowl and Rigatoni Bolognese. A side of Pistachio Pesto Parmesan Fries? Why not.
