A Bright, Art-Filled Crêperie & Pâtisserie by Day
A Wine & Dessert Bar by Night
A new Café has opened at The Alfond Inn at Rollins, the luxurious hotel in the heart of sophisticated Winter Park. Serving coffee, house-made breakfast pastries, warm crepes, desserts, and wines later in the evening, The Café is a smartly designed and impressive new addition to the hotel. It is a key component of the hotel’s long-anticipated new wing, which has added 71 new guestrooms, a second pool, and The Spa, a 13,500-square-foot state-of-the-art wellness facility.
Located adjacent to the lobby, The Café is a bright and welcoming space, with generous banquettes and high counter seating with charging outlets. The design incorporates natural wood tones, brass accents, mirrors, and pops of warm pink. It’s cheery and cosmopolitan, with mid-century modern overtones, the perfect place for starting the day or winding up an evening.
The Café is filled with artwork from The Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art. Pieces from artists as varied as Vik Munik and photographer Gordon Parks were specifically chosen for their provocative culinary and food-related messaging.
The Café features pâtisseries by newly appointed Pastry Chef Jason Acevedo. A Chicago native, he was raised in Puerto Rico and Orlando and earned his diploma in Culinary Arts as a Chef Pâtissier from Le Cordon Bleu Orlando. Chef Jason brings his skills and exposure to different cultures to his extraordinary pastry creations.
Morning coffee and pastries are served from 6 am-2 pm seven days a week and include made-to-order crepes with either buckwheat or regular batter. The fillings include various fruits, ham, cheeses, and vegetables.
The Café presents freshly baked buttery plain and chocolate croissants every morning. Grab-and-go boxes include wraps made with hummus, dips, and various fresh vegetables, with chicken, turkey, and vegetarian wraps and sandwiches. The Café partners with local coffee roaster Artifix.
The Café is open later in the day for dessert and wine, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. The carefully curated wine program utilizes the Coravin wine preservation system.
Owned by neighboring Rollins College, the private, coeducational liberal arts college in Winter Park, Florida, The Alfond Inn at Rollins is a unique luxury property distinguished by its philanthropic mission, directing all net operating income to scholarships. Olympia Hospitality operates the hotel.
